Trillium Book Awards toasting two decades of literary excellence!

In celebration of the book awards’ 20-year history, Ontario’s leading award for literature the Trillium Book Award / Prix Trillium commissioned a BookShorts video to profile the winners of the Book Award past and present. The book video Trillium Celebrates 20 Years made its premiere screening at the prestigious event at Harbourfront Enwave Theatre.

At the gala event, which was open to the public for the first time, guests rubbed shoulders with dozens of preeminent and emerging authors, many of whom also appeared in the book video: Nino Ricci, Jane Urquhart, Dionne Brand, Austin Clarke, Richard B. Wright, Paul Quarrington, Ken Babstock, Margaret Atwood, Daniel Poliquin, Didier LeClair, Wayson Choy, Antonio D’Alfonso, Angèle Bassolé-Ouédraogo, Michèle Matteau, Camilla Gibb and many others.

The Trillium Book Award/Prix Trillium encourages excellence in literature through its significant investment in Ontario-based writers. Award recipients for both English and French works receive $20,000. All finalists receive a $500 honorarium while their respective publishers also receive $2,500 to promote the winning titles.
